DisplayPort 2.0 (DP 2.0) is the first global update to the standard since March 2016. It provides for a three-fold increase in channel bandwidth, which provides support for resolutions over 8K, a higher screen refresh rate and high dynamic resolution (HDR) for high resolution, improved support for various display configurations, and an improved user interface for working with augmented / augmented reality (AR / VR), including support for virtual reality systems with a resolution of 4K and higher.
